*** London 2012 mascots project *** May 2010 saw
CR Productions involved in an exciting project to launch the mascots for
the
2012 London
Olympics (www.ourlondon2012.com/mascots). Adam Binks was the
producer of the original music by Thomas Hewitt Jones for the official
launch film, which has already been viewed by
countless millions across the globe. The animated film, first seen by the public
on the BBC's 'One Show', quickly became the most popular film on
YouTube with 750,000 individual viewings in the first 48 hours after
its launch. The story of the mascots is by renowned author Michael Morpurgo
and the film was produced by Barnaby Spurrier and directed by Mario
Cavalli.

Further 2010 Projects ***
Further projects for CR Productions in the early
part of 2010 include the editing of a
four-disc project entitled 'Organs of Edinburgh' for
Delphian Records. Featuring over 20 organs from around the city,
and a number of renowned organists, the four discs
will accompany a limited edition hard-bound book
containing much information about, and photographs of, each instrument. Also for Delphian,
CR Productions has
edited a disc by the Fell Clarinet Quartet entitled 'Bohemian Rhapsodies'.
In May of 2010
CR Productions has also recorded movements from a new ballet
by composer
Thomas Hewitt Jones, 'The Lady
of the Lake'. These recordings will be used in live performances of the
ballet by Independent Ballet Wales all across the UK during much

disc wins BBC Music Magazine Award ***
The 2010 BBC Music Magazine
Award for best debut recording
went to Imogen Holst's
String Chamber Music. Released on the Court Lane Music
label, and with mastering by CR
Productions the award was presented
in London in April.
________________________________ *** Productive start to 2010
for CR Productions *** CR Productions has hit the
ground running in 2010 with two discs recorded by 9 January. The two projects contain music
by no fewer than 14 living composers with a substantial number of world
premieres. The first of these projects, recorded at Champs Hill in
Sussex, is a disc of contemporary oboe works, recorded by James
Turnbull and featuring pianist Huw Watkins and Claire Jones (harpist
to HRH The Prince of Wales). The second project, recorded in the sumptuous
acoustic of All Saints Church, Dulwich is a disc of contemporary cello
works played by Oliver Coates. Further projects at the start of 2010
include a disc of contemporary Scottish piano trios from the Fidelio Trio
and a disc of Beethoven piano sonatas from pianist David

Thomas Hewitt Jones premieres *** The end of the year saw CR Productions
record a disc of music by the contemporary composer Thomas Hewitt Jones for
Court Lane Music. Consisting entirely of world premiere recordings, the
composer himself conducted the Court Lane Ensemble with a guest
appearance by the Choir of
Clare College, Cambridge and their director Tim Brown. Further projects
included a disc of string quartets
by Matyas Seiber played by the Edinburgh Quartet and a recording of sacred
choral works by John Taverner from the Choir of St Mary's Cathedral,
Edinburgh. ________________________________ *** Further firsts in a busy summer
for CR Productions *** The Summer of 2009 has been another
busy one for CR Productions with a further recording of the organ of St Albans by
Tom Winpenny showcasing the music of Judith Bingham, including the strings of the Dmitri
Ensemble and their director Graham Ross. Further highlights include a disc of premiere recordings of
chamber music by Gavin Bryars, as well as a recording for London
chamber choir Voce, directed by Suzi Digby. ________________________________

Productions produces St Albans first recording ***
In July 2009,
CR Productions produced and engineered the first recording of the
recently rebuilt organ of St Albans Cathedral in
Hertfordshire. In a recital designed to show the best of this already renowned Harrison and
Harrison instrument, Assistant Master of the Music and award-winning organist Tom
Winpenny, played music by Walton, Patrick Gowers, Vierne, Healey Willan, J.S. Bach, Peter
Hurford and Simon Preston. ________________________________

Classic FM Magazine ***

of William Russell has been awarded 5
stars
in Classic FM
Magazine's April 2009 issue. The
voluntaries were recorded
on
the historic Bishop
organ in
St James's Church
in
Bermondsey, London, and played by John Kitchen.

from Bridgewater Hall *** On 1
April 2009, CR Productions produced the first ever live internet broadcast
to come from Manchester's Bridgewater Hall. Featuring violinist Simon
Hewitt Jones and pianist Daniel Swain, the webcast went out live
exclusively on www.simonhewittjones.com
and featured music by Stravinsky, Kreisler and Poulenc. ________________________________

premiere concerto recordings *** CR
Productions has just completed the production of a disc of premiere
recordings
of two cello concertos by Icelandic composer Haflidi Hallgrímsson.Recorded in Edinburgh,
the Scottish Chamber Orchestra
and cellist Truls Mork were directed
by John
Storgards. The disc
is due for release on the Ondine label in April

BBC Music Magazine's chamber
'choice' of the month in February 2009 was Imogen Holst
'String Chamber Music'. Released on the Court Lane Music label and

Productions to attend MIDEM 2009 *** From 18-21
January 2009, CR Productions will be attending the international music
tradeshow MIDEM taking place in Cannes in the south of France. We'd be

set of William Russell to be released *** CR Productions has
recently completed the production and editing of a 3-disc boxed set of the
organ voluntaries of William Russell. Played by John Kitchen on the
historic organ of St James's Church, Bermondsey, the project
was funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council in conjunction
with the Department of Music at the University of Edinburgh. The set will

Ralph Vaughan Williams's choral works has achieved a 5-star review in The
Telegraph from the celebrated Vaughan Williams expert Michael

disc named Classic FM CD of the month *** The latest
release by Laudibus - the chamber choir of the National Youth Choir GB - a
disc of choral works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, has gained a coveted
'CD of the month' in Classic FM Magazine. The disc,
edited by CR Productions, contains both sacred and secular choral works
centred around his important Mass in G

webcasting ***
In October 2008, CR Productions produced its first webcast, live from
LSO St Luke's in central London. A live concert by the
London Contemporary Orchestra was broadcast on the 'Classical Music UK' website and
was made available 'on demand' for 2 weeks using the online
TV service 'Mogulus'. ________________________________
